Our Mission
On January 2003, Stephen achieved his
goal of wanting to help the less fortunate children in the hospital. Having had
experienced hospital stays over the past year for his ongoing medical condition,
Stephen never forgot the other kids that also share his experience. Starting
from a penny in a school yard, he was able to see far ahead to what he has
realized today...the Stephen Toledo Pediatric Fund at Clara Maass Medical
Center, Belleville, NJ. This ongoing fund has provided books, arts &
crafts, toys, audio/video portable gaming center for the children that need to
stay in the hospital's pediatric floor. These simple activities will help make
their stay more pleasant and take their minds off of their current
conditions.
In April 2005, the Mission expanded to
help the abandoned Boarder Babies at University Hospital, Newark, NJ. In
addition to clothing, toys and crib mobiles for these innocent babies, he has
donated clothing for fire victim families and infant car seats for needy newborn
families.
In May 2006, the Mission continues to
reach out and assist the needy through Catholic Services in the Essex County, NJ
area.
In summer of 2007, the Mission moved its efforts to Morris County where it continues to assist our new community's families in need. More about this in the coming months. Helping those in need and less fortunate was Stephen's goal and thanks to our family and many friends that have donated to his noble and selfless cause, he continues to realize his dreams.
